Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science (BAAS)-Industrial Technology
The Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science (BAAS) program, offered by the University of Texas of the Permian Basin (UTPB), offers career advancement opportunities to students who have previously earned the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. The BAAS-Industrial Technology degree will enhance students' technical education and will prepare them with leadership skills relevant in their respective working environments. Coursework is designed to enhance knowledge of technical and managerial skills.
Effective Spring 2013, UTPB will offer a BAAS online completion degree at a total cost of $5000 in tuition and fees for students who currently hold an AAS degree. Visit the $5000 BAAS Online Degree Completion page on the UTPB website for more information.
Degree Requirements
General Education Requirements - 44 credits
The General Education Requirements can be taken at a local Texas community college. Fifteen credits from the General Education Requirements category taken as part of the AAS degree can also be applied to satisfy the General Education Requirements section of the BAAS degree.
Applied Arts and Science Requirements - 57 credits
- Technical Field of AAS Degree - 30 credits
- Industrial Technology Upper-Division Courses - 27 credits
The BAAS will only be available to students transferring to the University with an AAS degree or its equivalent. A block of 30 credits from the technical field of the AAS degree will be applied to the BAAS degree. Students must complete at least 27 credits in Upper-Division courses related to their AAS specialty.
Total required for graduation - 120 credits

Getting Started
To participate in this program, students must apply and be accepted to UT Permian Basin as well as have previously earned the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. Complete an application for admission online through ApplyTexas and request official college transcripts be sent and evaluated by the Admissions office.
